These are growths caused by the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) and can occur on any part of the body but commonly on the hands and feet. Warts occurring on the genital area are usually sexually acquired. They are contagious and may spread to other parts of the body or through physical contact with other persons.
Treatment options include:
- Topical creams or solutions
- Cryotherapy with liquid nitrogen
- Electrosurgery
- CO2 laser treatment
- Vaccinations against HPV
